Salvation is GodвЂ™s free gift to us and we become His children. Romans 10:9 says: вЂњ If you declareВ with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,В and believeВ in your heart that God raised him from the dead,В you will be saved.вЂќ

It is a turning from our old ways and turning to Jesus, to ask Him for forgiveness from our sins and to give us new life in Him. Angels, as well as the man Adam, are also called sons of God. ( Isaiah 64:8) Jesus is called GodвЂ™s Son because Jehovah created him. 11 Jehovah is called a Father because he is the Creator. If he were not a man, he would not be able to die for the sins of mankind.To be made whole, or to be saved, is to submit to God and His plan and purpose for our lives. In the next chapter, we will discuss how JesusвЂ™ death makes it possible for us to live forever. The reason is that without Jesus being both God and man, he could not make a sacrifice of sufficient value to please God the Father. It is clear from the Scriptures that Jesus is considered to be God in flesh that is, he is considered to be divine. Titus 2:13 tells us to wait for the coming of вЂњour great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.вЂќ In John 5:18 it says that Jesus вЂњwas calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.вЂќ Jesus makes no correction to Thomas about this. Jesus appears to him, and Thomas responds by saying to Jesus вЂњmy Lord and my God,вЂќ (John 20:28). 1:8, вЂњBut of the Son he says, вЂYour throne, O God, is forever and ever.'вЂќДЄfter Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, Thomas, one of the disciples, doubted that he had risen. 2:9, вЂњfor in Him dwells all the fullness of deity in bodily form.вЂќ

Exodus 3:14, вЂњGod said to Moses, вЂњI AM WHO I AMвЂќ and He said, вЂњThus you shall say to the sons of Israel, вЂI AM has sent me to you.вЂ™вЂќ.

John 1:1, вЂњin the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

We know that Jesus is God in the flesh because the Bible says many things declaring this. This dual nature characteristic is called the hypostatic union. God has a divine nature, and Jesus possesses the divine nature as well as human nature. The correct answer is that Jesus is both divine and human. So in one sense, the term вЂњGodвЂќ can be used to designate the totality of God as a Trinity, and in another sense, it deals with the divine nature. If God is a Trinity and we say Jesus is God, then we are saying that Jesus is a Trinity. The Christian doctrine of the Trinity is that God exists as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.В So, we have to be careful when we ask if Jesus is God because we have to be clear in the answer.

But we have to be careful because we donвЂ™t want to say Jesus is God and fail to understand that God is a Trinity. When we say that Jesus is God weвЂ™re using the term вЂњGodвЂќ in reference to the divine nature.
